Tally data on who talks and what they are speaking about (character, setting, tension, change, etc.). At the end of the 4 minutes, share data with students. Establish a conversation goal and a participation goal to push more students to speak and what they will speak about. Post goals on the board to motivate students. Try another grand conversation for another 4 minutes and tally data. Discuss again with students.
